Hundreds of activists led by Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Mazdoor Dastkar Union (MDU) and Rural Women Foundation held a protest demonstration in the premises of the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital here against the private placement agency.
SRS state president Rajiv Mahajan, MDU Mahila state president Pushpa Sharma and Rural Women Foundation president Sunita Sharma threatened to launch an agitation from April 30 if the disengaged youths were not re-engaged by then.
Talking to the media, they asserted a few days ago the agency had invited applications from school 8th class pass candidates for the posts of Nursing Orderly and selected some of them.
Later the agency collected the uniform charges from those candidates and assigned them duty of Nursing Orderlies for about a week, the leaders said.
But the recruiting agency after a week disengaged the selected candidates on the plea that as these posts were meant only for the matriculates their selection was cancelled.
The leaders alleged that the selection list had been cancelled under the pressure of some political leaders and top rank government officers to benefit their preferential candidates.
