SSA officials booked for duping woman

Police today booked a senior officer of Sarv Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) and two other employees for allegedly duping a woman on the pretext of providing her a job.

Sikandar Singh, Director, SSA, Mohali, Gurprit Singh and Amardip Singh have been charged with duping Mandeep Kaur of Mangwal village of Rs 5.3 lakh on the pretext of providing her job.

According to the complaint filed by her, the accused had assigned her the task of coordinator, which she served for eight months without getting any salary, police said.

The case was registered after preliminary investigations, police said, adding that the accused would be arrested on completion of investigations.
