SSB jawan killed in clash between villagers

An SSB jawan was killed and another person was injured in crossfire between residents of two villages near Sanoga Inter college in Rajawar village under Gonda police station area here today.

A clash broke out between the villagers of Rajawar and Morar, after a dispute between two boys belonging to each of the villages over copying during the examination in the college earlier in the day.

Soon after the boys narrated the incident, a clash broke out and in the ensuing cross firing, Tejvir Singh (30) a driver in the SSB who had come home on leave died on the spot.
 

Another person Kuldip Singh, was injured and rushed to the medical college hospital, police said adding that force has been deployed and the situation is under control.

These two villages have a long history of rivalry and the residents have often been involved in clashes, police added.
