SSB personnel today seized deer antlers weighing about 600 gm and valued at Rs 20 lakh at Fatehpur in Bihar's Kisanganj district while being smuggled into the country from Nepal.
The antlers were seized near Indo-Nepal border pillar number 152/36 when the Shashtra Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) patrolling team chased a man suspecting him of smuggling. The man left the deer antlers weighing 600 gm and ran away into the nearby jungle, SSB Deputy Commandant Somnath and Range officer of Araria forest division R N Jha said.
The antlers were later deposited with the forest department at Bahadurganj in Kisanganj district, they added.
