SSB Siliguri thrashes Aryan Club to reach Bihar Cup semis

Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Siliguri team thrashed Aryan Club, Kolkata 5-2 after a scintillating tie-breaker shootout in the first quarterfinal of the Fourth All India Football Tournament for Bihar Cup here at Moinul Haq Stadium today.

The win helped SSB Siliguri team snatch a place in the semifinals of the tournament, which is drawing a large crowd of football lovers.

The match, marked by short passes and man-to-man marking started amid loud cheers by the audience as three players of African Origin with their spectacular haircuts took the field for the Aryan Club.

SSB players took the lead with their striker Gobinda Singh driving the ball to the opposition nets in the 41st minute of the first half.
 

Down by a goal, the Aryan Club tried their best in the second half and their equaliser came in the 81st minute with African player Hope shooting a header just below the SSB bar.

Both teams held each other and the game had to be decided by tie-breaker.
