SSB sub-inspector feared to have drowned in Ganga

A 25-year-old sub-Inspector in a paramilitary force is belived to have drowned in river Ganga when he was rafting in Tehri district today, police said.

Soon after the incident was reported around 5 PM, a rescue operation was launched by the police to trace the Sashastra Seema Bal official. He is feared to have drowned in the waters, Station House Officer of Kailashgate Police Chowki Manoj Negi said.

The official, posted in Guwahati with SSB hails from Karnal in Haryana, he said, adding, his family members have been informed about the mishap.
