Following assurances from the state government that they would be absorbed soon, over 200 empanelled candidates of the West Bengal School Service Examination, 2012 today ended their 21-day-old hunger strike demanding job appointments.
The candidates said they are happy with the response from the government and so they are withdrawing their strike.
They said they have been assured that the state School Service Commission (SSC) would conduct counselling of all candidates of the 2012 batch.
The candidates have been protesting outside the office of the SSC which conducts the examination.
