After a goof-up in publication of the 2014-15 SSLC examination results on April 20, State Education department today republished it, correcting various anomalies.

As per the revised result, the percentage of candidates eligible for higher studies was 98.57 per cent, a marginal increase from the 97.99 per cent announced earlier.

The number of eligible candidates was 4,61,542 out of the total 4,68,243 who appeared for the examination. Those who secured 'A' grade for all subjects was 15,430, an official release said.

Large-scale discrepancies had cropped up in the results announced earlier, with some students who did not appear for the exam getting 'A' grades, while many who fared very well, failed. Grades of several students were also found changed.

Seizing on the issue, CPI(M) veteran and state Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan had demanded the resignation of Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb for the mistakes.

The issue had triggered a controversy, with the Opposition slamming the government over the manner in which the SSLC examination results were handled.
