In a humanitarian gesture, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today directed the Indian Embassy in South Sudan to provide insulin to a number of Indians, suffering from diabetes, in the violence-torn country.
Swaraj's direction to the mission came after one Neha Himesh sought her intervention through a tweet, saying the patients struck in a hotel in Juba urgently need insulin.
"I have passed on the details to our Embassy in South Sudan. The Insulin/medicines will reach them soon," Swaraj said.
"Our Ambassador in South Sudan Srikumar Menon has spoken to your relatives."
"Please do not worry. Insulin/medicines will reach them tommorow," Swaraj said in a series of tweets.
