District officers and staff at the collectorate here wore black badges alleging that the Congress legislator from Pammaru constituency D Y Das misbehaved with district collector Buddha Prakash M Jyothi at a meeting yesterday.

The District Officers' Association also submitted a memorandum to Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary over the issue.

An office-bearer of the officers' body, which organised the protest, said that the MLA entered into an argument with the collector at 'Prajavani' meeting over the alleged delay in receipt of funds to a Gram Panchayat in his constituency.

The collector had said the funds were delayed as the model code of conduct was in force earlier this month for graduate constituency polls.

When contacted, Das told PTI that the collector was not forthcoming on the issue and did not act even as he met him many times on the issue.

"I will inform the matter to Chief Minister in Hyderabad in a day or two", he said.
