Stalin, Anbumani express grief over Kanpur train mishap

DMK Treasurer M K Stalin and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss today expressed grief over the train accident in Kanpur rural area which claimed over 115 lives and left more than 200 injured.

"There are no words to express my deep condolences to the bereaved family members", Stalin said.

Recalling Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu's speech after presenting the budget for 2016-17 that the government's vision was to create an accident-free Indian Railways, Stalin urged him to implement the recommendations of the High Level Safety Review Committee, headed by former Atomic Energy Commission, Chairman Anil Kakodkar.

The High Level Safety Review Committee had recommended several measures to prevent train mishaps.
 

PMK Leader Anbumani Ramadoss expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased amd requested the Rail Ministry and the Uttar Pradesh Government to provide adequate compensation to the families of those killed and those injured in the derailment.

More than 115 passengers were killed and more than 200 injured, nearly half of them grievously when 14 coaches of the Indore-Patna Express derailed in Kanpur rural area, in the wee hours today due to suspected rail fracture.
