Stalin mocks at Jaya for announcements of projects in assembly

Criticising Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for making all announcements under suo motu statements in the state Assembly, DMK leader M K Stalin today wondered whether even one per cent of them (projects) were being implemented.

Addressing a party meeting here on the topic "How Democracy is struggling in the Tamil Nadu Assembly", he claimed the Chief Minister had announced projects worth Rs 20,831 crore using the Rule 110 in the last assembly session.

He asked those who had gathered at the meeting "Can you say if even one per cent of the announcements have been implemented?."

During the regimes led by Kamaraj, C N Annadurai, Bakthavatsalam and M G Ramachandran, the Rule 110 was used only during emergency time or incidents like floods/riot when the government would announce about the steps taken to control them and provide relief.
 

He alleged that "We are not allowed to talk about the problems of the People.. Problems of the constituency in the assembly...
