Stalked for months, woman ends life in Nashik

Nirmala Bhaskar Shinde, a widow, who was staying with her 17-year-old nephew Roshan Pawar after her husband's death two years ago, took the extreme step yesterday at her house in Bhimashankar Co-op Society here, they said.

The incident came to limelight when Roshan returned home and saw her hanging in a room.

For last two months, she was being allegedly stalked by two persons in a car and on a motorcycle on her way back home from her workplace at a Satpur-based industrial unit, police said.

The victim was also being harassed with frequent calls on her mobile, by the stalkers, they said.

 

On January 2, she had lodged a written complaint against them with Satpur police station and provided them the vehicle and mobile numbers of the duo.

The family of the woman has alleged that inaction and negligence on part of the police claimed her life.

There are have no arrests in the case and further investigations are on, police added.
