Stamp vendor among 2 nabbed for trying to 'sell' engg college

: A stamp vendor was among two persons arrested here today for attempting to 'sell' a 15-year-old private engineering college in the city.

Acting on a complaint from the college owners that rumours were doing the rounds that they had instructed the institution to be put up for sale and that talks had been held in this regard, police conducted investigations and nabbed the duo.

Besides the stamp vendor, the other person arrested used to conduct English coaching classes, police said

A retired VAO also allegedly helped the tricksters in preparing fake documents, they said, adding police are on the look out for him
 

The duo were produced before a Judicial Magistrate Court here, which remanded them to 15 days judicial custody.
