Stamp vendors under the aegis of Ghaziabad Tehsil Compund Sangh went on an indefinite strike against the proposed move of the Uttar Pradesh government to introduce e-stamping for registering properties from April 1.
On the pattern of New Delhi, the UP government has decided to introduce electronic-stamping facility, a moved aimed at ensuring hassle-free transactions and prevent fraudulent practices at the registrar office.
The protesters claimed that after the implementation of e-stamping facility, more than a thousand stamp vendors of the district will be left jobless.
Members of the organisation said they will continue the protest against e-stamping till it was withdrawn by the state government.
