Stamps, parcels worth Rs 8,000 looted from post office

: Cash, stamps and parcels totally worth about Rs 8,000 have been stolen from a post office at G N Mills area in the city, police said.

The Assistant Post Master, Muthusamy had lodged a complaint yesterday morning that he found the locks of the post office broke open and cash and other articles missing, police said.

According to the complaint, rs.840 in cash, stamps worth rs.563, inland worth rs.400 and two parcels valued at rs. 6,500 were missing from the office, they said.

Police are on the lookout for the culprits.
