Jammu and Kashmir has been pushed into a "vortex of violence" by the state and Central governments, JKNNP said today.
"BJP owes an explanation to the people of the country for having brought disaster in the Kashmir Valley with open space given to anti-nationals and subversive elements and imposition of restrictions on the security forces. The state and the Central governments have put the state into a vortex of violence," Chairman, JKNPP, Harsh Dev Singh said here.
He said the "appeasement policy" followed during the last 18 months has emboldened the separatist camp and subversive elements with situation going out of control of the state government.
"The huge mismatch between BJP's rhetoric and its actions with respect to Kashmir has deeply antagonized the nationalist forces across the country," the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party leader said.
Asserting that anti-national movement in Kashmir gained momentum during the BJP-PDP rule, Singh said support base for militants has widened in the Valley and similarly Pakistan's appeal has also increased manifold.
"During the BJP-PDP rule, there has been an escalation in militancy-related incidents in the Kashmir Valley; large scale border incursions and infiltrations; countless pro-freedom rallies; spurt in incidents of Pak and ISIS flag waving and dishonour to national flag," he said.
Singh said the situation was normal before the last assembly elections and deteriorated after BJP began toeing the PDP line.
"In sharp contrast to its pre-election jingoistic harangues, BJP indulged in flip-flops and opportunist politics which brought the state to boiling point," the JKNPP leader said.
While attacking Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh for his statement on Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani, Singh said "It has not only exposed the political opportunism of saffron leaders but also had a demoralizing affect on the morale of security forces.
