All the government-run general hospitals across Haryana will be renamed as Civil Hospital or 'Naagrik Hasptal', state Health Minister Anil Vij said today.

"Known as General Hospital, they used to give an impression for being a hospital for general treatment only and was not giving a good message," Vij said here.

He said that all the general hospitals in the state, located at various places including district headquarters, will be renamed as Civil Hospital in English and 'Naagrik Hasptal' in Hindi.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved this proposal, he added.

The names of those hospitals, which are named after generous donors, would remain unchanged. Only those hospitals are named after the donors who donate Rs 50 lakh or more, he said.
