Both Tamil Nadu and Kerala governments have failed to take constructive steps with regard to contentious Mullai Periyar Dam issue, Tamil Maanila Congress president G K Vasan said today.

Considering the seriousness of the issue, as it involved both the agriculture and farmers, common to all the states, the governments should immediately take steps to find an amicable solution, Vasan told reporters here.

As far as Tamil Nadu fishermen's issue, Sri Lanka was speaking differently and changing its stand day by day, he said.

When asked about the arrest of a suspected ISIS terrorist, who lived in nearby Tirupur, from West Bengal, Vasan said that this showed the failure of intelligence agencies of both the State and Centre, as he was staying there for the last six years.

The government should at least from now now take stringent action before any further damage was done, he said.
