State-level hockey player goes missing

A 16-year-old state-level hockey player has gone missing while she was returning to Bareilly from Ranchi after participating in under-17 national hockey championship, police said today.

Karishma boarded Jaliawala Bagh Express on January 7 after participating in National Junior Hockey Championship in Ranchi but did not reach Bareilly, they said.

Team manager Rahul Singh and other players got down at Faizabad while Karishma left for Bareilly but when she did not reach there till Jan 10, her family members approached police.

Her family members lodged a complaint with the police yesterday and told them that Karishma's mobile phone is switched off.
 

GRP, Incharge Chandrashekhar Gupta said that police have started a probe in the matter and sent a team to Faizabad.
