Chowdhury was speaking to the media after visiting the under-construction railway coach factory at Hatiberia in Haldia. The project initiated by former Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to to start operation by January.
"State government will have to bear half of the project cost and provide land for any new railway projects," he said.
The minister also said that those giving land for railway projects may not get jobs in the railways.
"There is no guarantee that the landloser will get job for giving land for railway project," Chowdhury said.
