The government had withdrawn the status of minister of State conferred on Chairmen of UP Shia Central Waqf Board, Syed Wasim Rizvi, and UP Sunni Central Waqf Board, Jufer Ahmad Farooqui, with immediate effect, an official spokesman said.
The status was conferred on them on September 21 last year, he said.
Minority Welfare and Waqf Secretary Leena Jahauri said all the facilities provided to them had also been withdrawn.
