Calcutta High Court today stayed the publication of results of College Service Commission for this year on a plea by applicants who did their PhD before 2009.
Justice Aniruddha Bose directed the Commission to hold interview for all successful candidates in the written examination, but asked it to withhold publication of the results till further order.
Nearly 1,000 candidates, who had done their PhD before 2009 and appeared for the examination for assistant college teachers this year, had moved the court claiming that they had not been called for interview despite having cleared the written examination.
The Commission had not called them for interview as they had not completed a course prescribed by the University Grants Commission in 2009, the counsel for the candidates submitted and claimed that it was not in accordance with settled norms.
