Step up security in the run up to I-day: Jammu IGP to officers

Reviewing the security arrangements in the run up to Independence day, Jammu's Inspector General of Police Rajesh Kumar today directed various security and intelligence establishments to step up their vigil in order to forestall any ill-conceived plan of terrorists.

The intelligence agencies, police and security force officers should step up vigil and security in the district to check any attempt of infiltration and movement of anti-national elements, IGP said today.

A joint meeting of senior officers of various security and intelligence agencies as well as civil administration was convened by Kumar at the Police Control Room in Jammu to discuss the various security measures in the run up to August 15, official sources said
 

The progress of security and other allied arrangements being made for the Independence Day celebration and for forthcoming festivals such as Eid-ul-Azha, Raksha Bandhan, and Janamashtami was reviewed, they said.

A detailed review of the prevailing security scenario throughout Jammu zone was also made.
