To check the illegal arrival of paddy from the neighbouring states in the procurement centres of Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Raman Singh today instructed the district collectors to enhance vigil at such facilities located in the bordering areas.

The chief ministergave directives in these regard during a meeting with all district collectors and senior state officials here at Mantralaya today.

Singh directed the officials to make necessary arrangements to ensure systematic purchase of paddy from farmers at minimum support price from procurement centres set up under cooperative societies, an official here said.

The procurement is scheduled to start from the next month for the kharif marketing year 2017-18.

Besides, the CM also gave instructions to keep a close eye on the procurement centres in those districts, which are situated adjacent to the neighbouring states, so that the paddy could not be transported illegally from there for sale, he said.

While reviewing the works of the energy department during the meeting, Singh directed the collectors to add momentum to the solar pump installation works in the agriculture lands under Saur Sujala Yojna.
