A 14-year-old school girl was allegedly raped by her stepfather over the past one year in Medchal area of neighbouring Ranga Reddy district of Telangana, police said today.
The accused, identified as Chandra (in his mid 30s) allegedly sexually assaulted the teenager, a class VII student, over the past one year following which she became pregnant, said Inspector of Medchal police station K Shashank Reddy quoting the complaint.
"The girl was not going to school for the past two months as she had become pregnant," he said.
The probe is on, he said, while refusing to elaborate on whether the accused has been arrested and when the complaint was lodged.
A case of rape under Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered in this connection, Reddy added.
