Stephen King's 'The Stand' to be adapted for TV?

Author Stephen King's novel "The Stand" will reportedly be developed into a miniseries on to television.

Showtime is in talks with Warner Bros and CBS Films to make an eight-part miniseries based on the post - apocalyptic horror/fantasy novel that will later culminate in the big-screen adaptation, reported Aceshowbiz.

"The Fault in Our Stars" director Josh Boone has been roped in to direct the miniseries. Boone is reportedly planing to cast several A-listers for the project.

Although details of the the miniseries are still not known, King is likely to be involved in some capacity along with producers Roy Lee and Jimmy Miller.
 

"The Stand" is eyed as a big new franchise for Warner Bros. Boone said last year that they were "going to do four movies." At that time, Matthew McConaughey was reportedly eyed to star in it.
