Punjab Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharmsot today announced that the government would take all steps necessary to promote the state's traditional martial art, Gatka, in educational institutes.
This ancient game inculcates moral ethics and virtuous abilities among children, and instills self-defence skills, he said.
All efforts for promoting the traditional martial art, Gatka, in educational institutions will be taken, the minister said at a function organised by the National Gatka Association of India (NGAI) and its Punjab chapter here.
