Corporation officials today held preliminary discussions on urban transport development under Smart City project, based on the agreement between the state government and German Society for International Corporation.
The meeting chaired by Special Secretary, Municipal Administration and Water supply department, Tamil Nadu government, R Jaya, discussed widening of road as 'smart roads', in view of the increasing vehicular traffic day by day.
Parking management system, pollution-both noise and air, and steps to reduce the increasing road accidents, creating facility for pedestrians and cycle track also came up for discussion, official sources said.
Jaya asked officials to prepare a draft plan for the project.
