"Girls faced humiliation during the BSP rule but Akhilesh Yadav has issued clear directives to prepare a district wise list of miscreants to ensure safety of women" SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said.
Stressing that sound law and order was the priority of the government, Chaudhary said that steps were being taken in this direction and it would be considered as proper only when common people feel it that way.
Referring to the steps initiated by the SP government for women and girls, he mentioned the ambitious Woman Powerline 1090 under which those caught would find it difficult to get character verification, passport and driving license.
Chaudhary also mentioned the other schemes of the state government like Kanya Vidyadhan and aid to girls belonging to the minority communities.
Chaudhary said that SP has taken up the cause of Dalit women and those belonging to the backward castes and minorities under the women reservation bill by demanding their quota.
