Steps taken in last 2 years delivering results: Raj Governor

Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh today said the initiatives undertaken by the Vasundhara Raje government in the last two years have started delivering results.

Singh in his speech on the first day of the Budget session of the state assembly said the government brought reforms in labour laws and introduced new policies in solar energy, mining, tourism, investment promotion and IT sectors.

"For start ups, investment-friendly environment was created which has enhanced opportunities for job creation," he said.

The state government launched Mukhyamantri Jal Swavalmban Abhiyan to address the drinking water problem. Bhamashah scheme, which was started in 2014, is benefiting more than one crore families, the governor said.
 

The government conducted successfully Resurgent Rajashtan Summit in November last year during which MoUs worth Rs 3.21 lakh crore were signed. The state has secured sixth place in the country in ease of doing business, he said.

A sum of Rs 2,471 crore was transferred as financial assistance to the accounts of 29.24 lakh farmers as per SDRF norm for damage to crops due to hailstorm from February to April last year, Singh said.
