Asserting that steps would be taken to revive FACT, Union Fertilizers and Chemicals Minister Ananth Kumar today said that the state-run fertiliser firm requires "a re-structured plan".

"FACT requires a re-structured plan. Actually earlier plan was made in 2007. From 2007 to 2014 nothing was done about it. Already eight years have lapsed. We want to have a long-term solution for FACT...Not a cut and paste solution...," Kumar said here.

He also said the "Central government is going to give a better package to FACT."

"I assure you...Modi government is going to revive FACT," he told reporters here after speaking at a function organised by Ernakulam district BJP unit to celebrate one year of the Narendra Modi government.

Last year, the Ministry had proposed a nearly Rs 1,000 crore revival package for FACT - which has been facing financial constraints for quite some time.
