Sterling & Wilson bags contract from Daimler India

Sterling and Wilson, part of Shapoorji Pallonji Group, today said it has bagged a contract from Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) related to its manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.

The contract's scope includes supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the entire electrical solutions needed by Daimler at its commercial trucks production plant in Tamil Nadu, the company said in a statement.

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

The project is expected to be completed by Sterling and Wilson and handed over to Daimler by mid-2016. Sterling and Wilson provides mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services, including designing and commissioning of projects.
 

"Having successfully completed challenging electrical projects in the past like Terminal 3-Indira Gandhi International Airport, we are confident that our vast technical knowledge and resources will ensure us to deliver Daimler with advanced solutions for their production facility," Sterling and Wilson Group VP (Business Development) Prassana Sarambale said.

DICV, subsidiary of the German firm Daimler, designs, manufactures and sells commercial vehicles under brands 'BharatBenz', 'Mercedes Benz' and 'Fuso'.
