Shares of optical fibre maker Sterlite Technologies today soared over 9 per cent after the company posted about 61 per cent jump in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June.
The scrip surged 8.98 per cent to settle at Rs 172.30 on BSE. During the day, it zoomed 10.59 per cent to Rs 174.85 -- its 52-week high.
On NSE, shares of the company rose sharply by 9.2 per cent to end at Rs 172.70.

Sterlite Technologies today posted about 61 per cent jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 60.59 crore for the quarter ended June.
The company had registered a net profit of Rs 37.74 crore in the same period a year ago.
Total income increased by about 23 per cent to Rs 751.19 crore, its highest revenue till date, in the reported quarter compared to Rs 611.48 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.
