The ragging incident at Scindia School calls for stern action against those responsible for it and steps to ensure that such crimes do no recur, Union Mines and Steel Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said here today.
"This incident is a black spot on the field of education and I strongly condemn it. Apart from taking a stern action against those responsible for it, steps should also be taken so that such incidents do not recur in future," said Tomar, an MP from Gwalior, who also holds the charge of Labour and Planning Ministry.
He was in the city to launch the Prime Minister's 'Jan Dhan scheme'.

The incident involves a 14-year-old student of Scindia School, Adarsh Singh, son of Bihar Cooperatives Minister Jai Kumar Singh, who allegedly tried to commit suicide last week after he was ragged by three senior students, also minors.
The students were expelled by the school on Tuesday and were subsequently arrested, along with two staffers of the school, who have since been debarred. The boys as well as the staffers were released on bail on the same day.
"The state government should ensure constitution of anti-ragging committees in each and every institution and it should take tough measures to prevent it," Tomar said, adding that whatever comes out in the probe ordered by the district collector in this regard should be implemented in toto.
Reacting to a query on criminal cases pending against some ministers of the Union Cabinet including himself, Tomar said that the case pending against him is "associated with public interest and is not a criminal case per se."
"However, I am of the opinion that those in public life should stay away from indulging in criminal activities as it affects them and their parties concerned," Tomar said.
