Bindi Irwin has joined "Dancing With The Stars".

The 17-year-old conservationist is the first celebrity contestant to be announced for the 21st season of the show.

Bindi personally made the announcement whilst appearing on "Good Morning America".

"This is completely different to anything I have ever done in my life. I am used to wrangling crocodiles.

"I actually just got back from our annual crocodile research trip. About four days ago I was in far north Queensland catching crocs and now here I am in New York City, about to be in LA," she said.

Her father, Steve Irwin aka The Crocodile Hunter, died in 2006 at the age of 44 when he was accidentally killed by a stingray.

Bindi has followed in her father's footsteps, not only in helping run the family zoo in Australia and her love for animals, but also in relishing a challenge.
