Filmmaker Steven Spielberg is developing a biopic about revered US newscaster Walter Cronkite during the Vietnam War.
The filmmaker, 69, is re-teaming with his "Bridge of Spies" collaborators - screenwriter Matt Charman and producer Marc Platt - on the as-yet-untitled project, reported Deadline.
Based on a pitch from Charman, the movie will centre on "America's most trusted newsman" and his relationship with the Vietnam War, specifically his role in "turning public opinion against the increasingly un-winnable conflict."
