The Blu-ray DVD of the Oscar-winning movie, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Drew Barrymore, will feature never before seen footage from the set of the movie along with an all-new interview with the director Steven Spielberg, reported CNN.

Other highlights will include two deleted scenes, a reunion with the cast and filmmaker, a feature on the evolution and creation of the movie and a discussion with composer John Williams on the music of the film.

"When 'ET The Extra-Terrestrial' premiered in 1982, it captured the imaginations of people young, old and everyone in between in a way that was unparallelled in modern movie history.

"A global cultural phenomenon and the biggest box-office blockbuster of its day, ET brought out the child in all of us. We are thrilled audiences will now be able to experience the film in the astounding quality of 'Blu-rayTM'," said Craigh Kornblau, President of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

"ET The Extra-Terrestrial" will be released on Blu-ray DVD in October.
