STF arrests 4 persons for duping

Four persons were arrested by the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh police for allegedly duping people in the name of installing mobile towers on their land.

"While Pradumn Nath Dubey and Sanjeet Kumar Mall were arrested from Lucknow, two persons Brijesh Upadhyaya and Manish Shukla were nabbed by the STF team from Gorakhpur yesterday," IG Ashish Gupta told reporters here.

He said that the accused used to get publish advertisement in the newspapers inviting people to have mobile towers installed at their land or houses.

"The gang used to make lucrative offer by promising an advance payment between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh and then monthly rent of Rs 20,000 to Rs 22,000 along with job," he said.
 

Gupta said that once a person approached the gang they asked him to deposit money on various accounts.

"Through this they used to dupe the victims anything between Rs 20,000 to rupees two lakh," he said.

During investigation the STF came to know that the gang was operating from Lucknow and Gorakhpur after which arrests were made, the IG added.
