STF in a joint operation with the Mumbai police arrested Hidayat Ali Sheikh, involved in the theft of Rs 35 lakhs from a trader in Mumbai on July 27 this year, in Harsingpur village in Colonelganj area this morning, police said.
Later, during interrogation Sheikh confessed he had got Rs six lakhs as his share in the theft of which Rs 5.74 lakhs were recovered from his house.
Further probes are on into the case, they added.
