STF jawan injured in Naxal attack

A personnel of Special Task Force (STF) of Chhattisgarh Police was injured in a skirmish with Naxals in Sukma district.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Sukma, Santosh Sinh told PTI that Tilak Patel, a jawan, was injured in an encounter between Naxals and police in a forest near Palamdagu under Dornapal police station limits today.

The rebels attacked an STF team, which was patrolling the area and the latter retaliated, he said, adding that the gun-battle went for nearly one hour.

Additional force has been sent to the area, while a chopper has been sent from Raipur to airlift the injured jawan.
