The Himachal Pradesh police has set up a Special Task Force (STF) to combat drug peddling in the state, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said today.
Also, State Narcotics Crime Control Units have been set up in Shimla, Kangra and Kullu
to deal with drug mafia, he told reporters after flagging off an awareness rally against drug abuse at Ridge here.
The rally was organised by the state police on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which was attended by 2,000 students and NGOS.
The chief minister also inaugurated an LED screen at Police Control Room at The Mall, Shimla.
