BJP today claimed that the CD, purportedly showing Chief Minister Harish Rawat's personal secretary negotiating a bribery deal with a middleman for liquor licences, was with the party and would be produced before the appropriate authority.

"The CD is with us and it will be produced at the right place (authority)," BJP leader and in-charge of party affairs in Uttarakhand Shyam Jaju said at a party function here.

The Harish Rawat-led Congress government in the state came under scanner last month after a CD surfaced which purportedly showed the CM's personal secretary Mohammed Shahid negotiating a bribery deal with a middleman for liquor licences. Shahid was then removed from his post.

BJP had earlier sought dismissal of Harish Rawat government and demanded a CBI probe into the incident.

Jaju said the state government should accept the BJP's demand for a CBI probe into the incident as the allegation was on his personal secretary which is an appropriate case for investigation by the Central agency.
