Stock of adulterated fertilisers seized

A large quantity of adulterated fertilisers estimated to worth over Rs 35 lakh has been seized from a godown on Aapata Road near here, a senior officer said today.

"About 8000 bags containing Super Phosphate and DAP are seized by agriculture officials yesterday. It was also found that fertiliser of one company was being filled into the bag of another manufacturer," said the District Agriculture Development Officer, Akola ZP, Uday Kathode, adding that the seized samples will be sent to laboratory.

The official said that 320 bags of Di-Harmonium phosphate of Gujarat State Fertiliser Company were also found.

Police have registered offences against a fertilising company on the complaint of the agriculture department.
