Stolen ornaments recovered by police

Ornaments worth Rs 20 lakh was recovered by the police from a person who had stolen them from the lockers of private finance company here.

In an FIR filed by the company's area head with Kotwali Police Station, it was mentioned that everything was found intact on Aug 8 when an audit was conducted.

But, twelve packets of ornaments weighing 1298.3 gm were found missing when the lockers were rechecked on August 21, the FIR said.

Investigations revealed that the company's assistant branch manager Vijai Pal succeeded in making a duplicate of the keys of the locker and stole ornaments worth Rs 44 lakh with the help of two other employees, Bharat Kuntal and Saurabh Singh, they said.
 

"Efforts are on to nab Bharat and Saurabh who are on the run," SSP Gulab Singh said.
