Incidents of stone pelting have reduced in Jammu and Kashmir due to the central government's demonetisation move, BJP state general secretary, Harinder Gupta claimed today.
"The demonetisation struck a severe blow to stone-pelters and terrorists by clamping down on their funds and militants in Kashmir have lost access to all their cash reserves and their desperation was evident in bank robbery attempts," he told reporters here.
Stone pelting incidents in Kashmir have come down from 2,683 in November 2015- October 2016 to 639 November 2016 to July 2017 as result of demonetisation, the BJP leader claimed.
