The PCC president alleged Congress workers were being targeted and victimised with false cases by the government, while addressing a public meeting here today.

He warned Badal and Majithia about alleged atrocities on Congress workers saying, "the party will launch a jail-bharo movement in Punjab and fill all the jails in protest."

"If they (SAD) are so fond of putting Congress men behind bars, we will flood the jails ourselves," he said.

The former Punjab Chief Minister said the SAD had "cheated" people into voting them to power by not fulfilling pre-poll promises.

"Instead of delivering on promises, they (SAD) have slapped punitive taxes on the people of Punjab which the Congress has been vigorously opposing," he said.

Congress Legislative Party leader Sunil Jakhar claimed SAD-BJP was always alleging discrimination by the Centre, but Punjab had received maximum grants from the Centre.

He alleged that instead of utilising these funds on welfare schemes, they were being siphoned off and embezzled.
