Amidst reports in a section of the media about clashes in some places during Durga Puja and Muharram, the West Bengal government today said that some stray incidents had taken place due to "personal rivalry" and in each case quick action had been taken.
"A few media houses have dished out distorted reports. We are keeping an eye.... Law will take its own course," chief secretary Basudeb Banerjee told reporters at the state secretriat here.
"There have been a few stray incidents in three places because of personal rivalry. We have quickly taken action and controlled them," he said.
