Stray Tiger found dead

: An eight-year-old tiger,

which triggered panic here by attacking a veterinarian earlier this week, was today found dead near Chethalayam forests in the district.

The tiger, who carcass was spotted at Pambra in South Wayanad Forest Division, appeared to have been killed in a territorial fight with other animals, a top forest official said.

"The injury marks over its body indicate that the animal had territorial fight with other animals. There was no sign of poaching bid," P Dhaneshkumar, Divisional Forest Officer, Wayanad (South), told PTI.

He said the forest officials were on a look out for the big cat after it attacked the veterinarian recently and a patrolling squad came across its carcass in the morning. One of its limbs was found dislocated, he said.
