Goa Governor Mridula Sinha today said the state government should streamline the administration so that people's expectations are fulfilled and there is no frustration and distress among them.
"Living in a democratic society, people have great expectations aroused in them. We must streamline our administrative system to fulfil them, thereby giving no chance for frustration and distress," she said in her address on the eve of Goa Statehood Day.
"Very often, the cause for distress and agitation is the non-fulfillment of the basic requirements of the people. A clean, honest and efficient administration can realise the hopes and aspirations of the people."

The Governor said there are a few issues that are making regular headlines and the people are concerned about them, such as regional plan, medium of instruction and garbage problem.
"It is not for me to talk about them on this occasion, but I am confident that the government, under the dedicated leadership of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, supported by his Cabinet colleagues, will address them sympathetically in the best interest of the state and the people," she said.
"People should not become desperate and adopt negative attitude, but should cooperate and be prepared to settle issues through democratic means to which we are pledged," Sinha said.
Referring to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Governor hoped that the mission becomes a great success by 2019, as envisioned by the Prime Minister.
